Salt Lake City – The Salt Lake City Mayor’s Coalition on Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs is holding a press conference tomorrow to unveil 6 new sanitation trucks and their new message on underage drinking. This is the 2nd set of trucks Salt Lake City has wrapped with a message to parents. The trucks are intended to serve as moving billboards as they stop weekly at Salt Lake City homes and businesses.

Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County were the first in the nation to carry such messages on their sanitation trucks and have received national attention for visiting over 16 million homes and traveling close to 3 ½ million miles in the first year.

Salt Lake City – Mayor Ralph Becker will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Salt Lake Bees game versus the New Orleans Zephyrs Monday, July 28, 2008. The pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m. at Franklin Covey Field. Mayor Becker will also be on hand to greet fans and watch the game.

Mayor Becker to Discuss First Six Months in Office, Share Vision for the Future and Gather Feedback 
 
Salt Lake City – Mayor Ralph Becker invites the public to join him for a town hall meeting on July 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Library Auditorium. The event will be moderated by KCPW’s Lara Jones and is an opportunity for Salt Lake City residents to ask questions and hear directly from the Mayor on the progress his administration has made during the first six months in office and his vision for the future. The Mayor’s Office will also be gathering ideas and feedback from attendees about the future of Salt Lake City.
 
The Mayor unveiled his 180-Day Plan before being inaugurated in January. The plan outlined each of the initiatives Ralph Becker would prioritize during his first six months in office. During the town hall meeting, Mayor Becker will take the audience through his 180-Day Plan and discuss each of the initiatives that have been undertaken in support of those goals.
