Mayor Becker Also Invites Volunteers to Celebrate Earth Day at Bend- in-the-River
Salt Lake City – Mayor Ralph Becker will meet Salt Lake City residents during his first ever “Saturday Morning with the Mayor” event this Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Jordan Park. The Mayor and members of the City staff will be on hand to visit and answer questions from the public.
The event is an outgrowth of the campaign promise Mayor Becker made to be open and accessible as Mayor and to focus on the City at the neighborhood level.
Following the question and answer period, Mayor Becker will put his gloves on, grab a shovel and walk over to join students from the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center for an Earth Day service planting project at the Bend-in-the-River. All interested volunteers are welcome to bring their own gloves and join Mayor Becker.
